Who needs toys?
We brought this box home from Costco last week and it has been a source of great entertainment for Jack. He especially likes to stand in it when he’s eating dinner. Here he is just out of the bath, taking a few minutes to play before he gets into bed:
It’s always funny to me when kids are surrounded by fancy toys that light up and sing, and yet it seems the favorite things are quite simple. Currently he is playing with a rock and an empty toothpaste box.
Today we went shopping for pumpkins at the Ranch Market, a local Latino grocery store that had a great selection last year. This year the selection was smaller but we had fun shopping anyway. If you recall, last year we took this photo of an almost-one-year-old Jack with his first Halloween pumpkin:
This year we took a few extra shots of him posing with the pumpkin:
Here I told him to smile:
And finally, he tries to pick up the pumpkin, remarking that it is heavy:
We don't have many plans this week - the bigger I get the less we can do by ourselves. We are getting ready for the new baby, who will be here exactly 2 months from today. Hopefully we can figure out how to reassemble the crib!

Okay...I guess I should have changed his shirt if he was going to be the Halloween Poster Boy. Love the smile!
