Attack of the Toddfant!

Jack spent the night at Grandma Gloria and Grandpa Tom’s house on Friday so Joe and I could attend a fancy fundraiser at the zoo. The best part about the whole thing was sleeping in Saturday morning! Unfortunately, Gloria’s camera is on the blink, so we don’t have any pictures of his adventures. It sounds like he was very busy though. He went grocery shopping, spent some time with Great Grandma and Grandpa, went to Costco, and crawled up and down the stairs very fast.

He had such a busy time in fact that he couldn’t even stay awake for his dinner and bath last night. He barely ate a thing, screamed bloody murder when Joe tried to put him in the tub, and I had to keep waking him up to finish his bottle. He slept all the way through until five this morning, so I know he was all tuckered out.

Today we went and visited Grandma Sandee and Grandpa Vince at Leo’s restaurant in Scottsdale. It’s funny for Joe and I to watch our parents with Jack. They all think he’s just perfect and wonderful and fun. Here you can get an idea of the level of squirminess involved:

Notice my parents don’t looked stressed out, harried, or agitated. They look happy and fun. It’s the same with Gloria and Tom – they always look like they are having the best time when Jack is scooting around wreaking havoc anywhere he roams.

Later in the breakfast we tried on some of Jack’s new winter clothes. My mom bought him some overalls from Hannah Andersson so they wrestled him into the new outfit:

Doesn’t he look like such a little boy? He’s in a funny stage right now. Sometimes he looks so grown-up and independent, but others he is still very much a baby (especially when he’s falling asleep with a bottle in his mouth!) This is where the new term Toddfant came from. He’s not quite a Toddler, not quite an infant. He’s a Toddfant.

This week will bring much excitement I’m sure. We may go to the zoo, we may even go to the gym, who knows? Anyhow, I will be certain to keep the camera right nearby so we have some good shots of my little Toddfant.

Comments:
hehe cute name!

Jack is so photogenic ... i just can't get over how dam cute he is. and just wait .. it gets more fun, really.

Jordan is 16 months old and he is so much fun right now .... gibber jabbering to talk to you .. clearly says things like "gama" (for Grandma) "dog" for Sienna, "bye bye", "up" .... and does a little dance when you sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star .... including putting his hands over his head when you get to the part that says "Up above the world so high ...."

you are going fall more in love with him every day .... enjoy it!

Our baby daughter is due in just 6 days. I've also started a blog for her. I'm glad I'm not the only one. My husband and I are older parents; I'm 34 and he's 39. What is frustrating for us is that his national guard unit is heading for Baghdad a few weeks after her birth.

Has your family found your blog a good way to keep in touch?
