The Great Baby Escape
Julie and I left our babies at home this weekend and headed up to Sedona. Our wonderful husbands were left to manage on their own, and they both did a fantastic job. It was tough to leave the little guy over night, but I got some much needed rest and relaxation.
Jack has a new toy, thanks to Aunt Cissy. It's a fountain she brought over for him because he loves the one at Great Grandma's so much. We set it up near his chair so he couldn't knock it over, and he seems to like it:

Eating is going very well. He's finally to the point where he is swallowing the cereal, although he often has to use his fingers or his bottom lip to help him out:

Yesterday we decided to try and give him some avocado. He seemed to enjoy it, although at first he was a bit skeptical. Joe is going to start making him some baby food soon so we can try out other vegetables as well.

As you can see, quite a bit of the food ends up outside his mouth.
He is also getting very good at sitting. Here he is the other day on the floor with his bunny:

and then propped up on the bed:

Unfortunately he doesn't always stay upright so we have to be sure to be nearby, or else he falls:

Today we're going to the gym for the first time. They allow babies in the child care area as long as they can sit up on their own – I don't know if Jack qualifies, but I need to work out so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
