Happy Birthday Mary!

My niece Mary turns 11 today. Here she is:

It's hard to believe how fast the time has gone, and how much can happen in 11 years.

Hope you have a great day Mary!

We completed our second sleep log yesterday and I have to say there is quite an improvement from 10 days ago. As long as we are making progress I feel pretty good about the situation. Every night is different, of course. I think that's the hardest thing for me – going to sleep at night and not knowing if I'll get to rest or if I'll be up every hour.

The pediatrician gave us an instruction sheet for a four month old baby. One of the instructions says "It is not unusual for a baby to cry for 15-20 minutes before falling asleep." 20 minutes? Are these people insane? I guess it would be less work to just throw him in the crib and let him cry himself to sleep, but isn't it better to teach him how to go to sleep without crying himself sick? My goodness.

Yesterday we went up to Scottsdale to have lunch with Parley and Jeff. I dressed Jack up in a cute outfit so he would be sure to fit in, and I luckily snapped this picture before we left because he spit up everywhere and I had to change his clothes at the last minute.

Doesn't he look like the cutest little boy? I also took a close-up of his face so you all could see how much better it looks:

It's really amazing the difference. I feel horrible that his face was hurting him for so long.

Today we are finally going to have formal pictures taken. Of course I have to drive all the way to Chandler to do so – the Sears there has an internet studio so I'll be able to post the pictures here when they are done.

Comments:
My cousin swears her Jack has the same Froggie shoes. I am waiting for photo confirmation. She might have been a little ticked that I required proof but that's just who I am.

Love the Froggie shoes!

You have never let Jack cry for 15 minutes?? Wow - you are an awesome MOM! SUPER MOM!

I bow to you!
