Retail Therapy
I finally broke down and went shopping yesterday. We have a wedding next weekend and I have to go to a Jr. League committee meeting the following week and I was still only wearing maternity clothes. That gets old after a while. So my mom and I spent a few hours at Nordstrom with a sales woman who helped me find things to match my new shape. Forget labor and childbirth, the hardest part about having a kid is all the extra weight you have to cart around afterwards. And some people lose it right away, like Julie. But some people like me have not lost a pound since my last doctor's appointment.
It's going to be a long while before I can wear hip huggers and a belly shirt. Not that I ever wore those before, I'm just saying.
In better news, our friend Travis Cooley came by for a visit. It's funny to me to see men who like babies. I think he really wants a family. Here he is by the tree with the little man:
He's doing well and planning a romantic getaway to Italy. I am insanely jealous.
We have a new fan! Zoe, a baby born two days before Jack, somehow came across our blog and started reading. It's fun to see another baby almost the exact same age as our little guy. She is very cute and makes some of the same faces.
Everyone was tired last night, I guess from all the new years hoopla. Here are my three boys asleep on the couch.
Well, Guido's not really asleep, the baby makes him a little nervous. But Joe and Jack were out cold, and I got to knit and watch tv.
Here they are all asleep:
Today Jack and I are staying home. (I know I said this yesterday, but I really mean it today.) He didn't have that great of a night and I'm pretty tired. At around 7:15 I woke Joe up to get him so I did get a nap this morning. For some reason he just couldn't go back to sleep after eating in the middle of the night, so we were up a lot watching the Rose Parade on TiVo.
