Happy New Year!

Jack has many resolutions for the new year. He’s going to learn to sit up, roll over, crawl, and perhaps start to walk a little. He will learn the word No and say it with conviction. He will also probably learn the Notre Dame Fight Song. And he will sleep through the night. (The real kind of sleeping through the night, like 8 hours. Not this 5 hours that the doctor claims is “through the night”.)

Yesterday Jack had lunch with his Scottsdale grandparents. Here he is admiring my dad’s new vest I made him for Christmas:

We had a wonderful lunch at Effe’s, a Turkish restaurant in Tempe. I don’t know much about Turkish food other than it’s really really yummy.

We drove home for a rest and I realized my favorite piece of baby gear is this:

It’s a mirror so I can see what the little man is up to while we’re driving around. I know there is a reason the baby has to face the back of the car but I can’t remember what it is. Regardless, this mirror keeps me sane.

Today we are going to hang out at home. We didn’t have a great sleeping night because the neighbors thought it would be fun to light fire crackers from midnight to one a.m. and everyone woke up. This threw off Jack’s new schedule so he was up a few more times in the night. I’m as sleepy as a June Cow.
